Privacy Policy for UniSplit

Playneer ("we," "us," or "our") built the UniSplit app as a Freemium app. This SERVICE is provided by Playneer at no cost for basic features, with optional premium upgrades, and is intended for use as is.

1. Information Collection and Use

For a better experience while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information:

• Account Information: Email address, Display Name, Profile Picture, and Authentication data.
• App Data: Expense records, group names, custom categories, currencies, and ledger interactions.
• Device Permissions:
  • Camera & Photo Library: To use the receipt scanning feature.
  • File Access & Document Browser: To facilitate CSV data import and export. The app uses the system's native file picker to access specific files you select from local storage or third-party cloud services (e.g., Google Drive, iCloud Drive).

2. AI Receipt Scanning & Cloud Storage

UniSplit uses AI to enhance expense tracking:

• Image Processing: Images are sent securely to Google Cloud / Gemini API for OCR and data extraction.
• No Model Training: Your receipt images and data are NOT used to train foundational AI models.
• Data Standardization: To ensure accurate multi-language reporting, identified categories and payment methods may be converted into standardized internal keys.
• Retention: Receipt images are stored on Google Firebase. Deleting a transaction or account permanently removes associated images.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate and secure UniSplit:

• Firebase (Google): For authentication, database (Firestore), cloud storage, and crash reporting (Crashlytics).
• RevenueCat: To manage UniSplit PRO subscriptions securely.
• Google Cloud (AI API): For processing receipt images.
• Google AdMob: To serve advertisements for free-tier users. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data.

4. Data Import, Export, and File Handling

UniSplit provides tools for data migration and backup:

• CSV Import: When you import a CSV file, the app reads the content locally to sync data to your ledger. We only access the specific file you choose via the system document browser.
• Data Export (PDF/CSV): Exported files are generated locally. Once exported, you have full control over these files.
• Third-Party Cloud Storage: Through the integration of the iOS/Android system file picker, you may choose to save or load files from services like Google Drive, iCloud Drive, or Dropbox. Your credentials for these services are handled by the OS and are never shared with UniSplit.
• Receipt Web Links: Exported reports may contain secure web links to your stored receipts. Anyone with access to these files can view the linked images.

5. Data Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest using Firebase's secure infrastructure. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to third parties.

6. Account and Data Deletion

You have the right to delete your account at any time:

• Procedure: Navigate to Menu > My Profile > Delete UniSplit Account.
• Effect: Authentication records and personal profile info are permanently removed. Shared ledger entries are anonymized to protect group integrity. All uploaded receipt images are permanently deleted.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
